Gortria C Banks is a native Memphian, University of Memphis alumnus, and 31 year veteran of the Courts. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Masters in Management with a concentration in Human Resource Management. Gortria Banks is a Certified Public Administrator and has held several administrative and leadership roles within the Courts over the last two decades.
Gortria retired from Shelby County Government in December 2020 after having served as the Finance Administrator for both General Sessions Civil and Criminal Court where she was instrumental in taking the Court to the community. The General Sessions team, under her leadership, attended many community events offering assistance with their Driver Assistance Program, Diversion Programs, and Expungement Initiatives. She was spotlighted as a finalist for Memphis Business Journal’s CFO of the Year for her work done in the Courts.
Gortria has a passion for helping others, whether it be staff development or within the community, and serves as a volunteer for many local events.
