Renee Ambrosek Graves is an Associate Immigration Attorney with the Community Legal Center’s Immigrant Justice Program. After receiving a Masters degree in English from the University of Memphis, Renee initially established a career in education. After several years of teaching at both the high school and college level, Renee made the decision to change careers. Renee’s interest in immigrant rights led her to enroll at the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. She graduated “cum laude” from the UofM with a juris doctorate in 2022.
While in law school, Renee clerked for the Memphis Immigration Court, volunteered with the CLC’s Immigrant Justice Program, and was awarded the Memphis Bar Association’s “Champion of Justice Award” for pro bono service. As a member of Law Review, Renee also published an article on the topic of the “Flores Settlement” and the need for improved conditions for children within immigration detention centers. Prior to returning to the CLC as an immigration associate, Renee clerked for Siskind Susser Immigration and also gained valuable experience in family law as an associate attorney at a Memphis non-profit legal aid agency.
