Executive Director

Diana M. Comes serves as the Executive Director of the Community Legal Center. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Rhodes College in 2008 and her Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2011. Following graduation from law school, Ms. Comes served as a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Jon P. McCalla, Chief Judge, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee, and the Hon. Ronald L. Gilman, Senior Judge, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. She then joined the Memphis office of Butler Snow LLP, where she was an associate and then partner practicing primarily in the areas of commercial and appellate litigation, before joining the Community Legal Center in 2021. During her time in private practice, Ms. Comes was named as a SuperLawyers Mid-South Rising Star in the area of Business Litigation from 2017-2020 and to Best Lawyers in America in the area of Commercial Litigation from 2020-2021.

Ms. Comes is a past president of the Memphis-based Association for Women Attorneys and a board chair of the Memphis Farmers Market. She is a graduate of the New Memphis Institute Fellows program as well as the Tennessee Bar Association’s Leadership Law program.
