Betsy Prendergast is an attorney with the Immigrant Justice Program at the Community Legal Center. She received her Juris Doctor from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, where she was the recipient of both the Irvin Bogatin Social Justice Award and the Tennessee Bar Association’s Law Student Volunteer of the Year Award for her work with the Community Legal Center and the law school’s Elder Law Clinic.

Betsy has spent much of her career working to ensure equal access to justice for vulnerable and marginalized populations. She has worked for Memphis Area Legal Services, taken pro bono cases, and served on the CLC Board of Directors for several years. Today, her passion for social justice drives her work as an immigration attorney, where she helps her clients navigate complex and ever-changing immigration laws and procedures as they seek safety, stability, and opportunity in the United States.
